First Pics of Depp as Sweeny Todd
Perez Hilton has posted the first public glimpse of Johnny Depp in the title roll of Tim Burton’s Sweeney Todd, currently in production in London. Sweeney Todd is the big-screen adaptation of Stephen Sondheim’s 1979 Grand Guignol Broadway musical about a throat-slashing barber and his meat-pie-making accomplice (Helena Bonham Carter). Variety is reporting the film is on track for release in time for Christmas of this year (selected cities only, to qualify for Oscar consideration no doubt). Perez thinks Depp looks like a grown-up Edward Scissorhands. I think he looks more like a Victorian Susan Sontag.
As a huge johnny depp fan i am really looking forward to sweeny todd i really dont agree with perez’s comment on how johnny looks like an older edward scissor hands, it dosent matter wot he looks like it wont affect his acting im sure. i am sooooo glad that tim burton and johnny are pairing up again i hope it wont be the last time either. The movies they create in both johnny’s acting and tim’s direction are outstanding.
well i for one am very excited for this up-coming film! i think this is going to be yet another masterpiece of genius tim burton and amazing actor johnny depp. i also believe that tim burton is a fabulous director and has made great movies- especially when johnny depp is acting in it! they work very well together and as “johnny depp fan” had said it doesnt matter what he looks like because it wont affect his acting at all. i love all of johnny´s movies and he portrays every character in such an amazing way that it makes you want to watch that film over and over again. its like he is that character. anyway, i am very much looking forward to see this new movie!
I’m just thrilled to hear the Sweeny Todd is making it to the movies. I loved the musical since I saw it in college. To find that Johnny Depp as Sweeny with Tim Burton directing were massive bonuses!
My husband says its a Johnny the Homicidal Maniac meets Count of Monte Cristo. I’d have to agree with him. Johnny Depp is a great actor and it seems that he will do a great job portraying the delightful Sweeny Tod.
this movie is quite possibly the best thing that has ever happened to me; its oe of my favorite musicals, directed by my favorite director and starring my favorite actor….I havent been this eager for christmas to come since I was 6 years old.

I love anything that Johnny Depp is in. he makes all movies ALOT better ! he can do anything. I think a lot of Johnny Depp. I believe he is the best actor out there. I also think Kate Winslet is a great actress. Johnny Depp best actor, Kate Winslet best actress-both are best hands down.
